5 Great, Obscure 70s and 80s Horror Shorts

Here are 5 great horror shorts from the 70s and 80s that have been largely forgotten.

1.  The Jogger (1984)

Storyline:  A man out for his daily jog is terrorized by a stalker in a ski mask, only to find that he has made a comic mistake.

2.  A Christmas Treat (1985)

Storyline:  A young boy is lying in bed as Santa is downstairs leaving presents under the tree. The boy slowly walks down the stairs and taps on Santa’s shoulder…

3.  The Contraption (1977)

Storyline:  A man toils at building an elaborate contraption. How fast can you figure out what he’s building?

4.  It Took Guts (1979) (WARNING: Very Gory)

Storyline:  A teenage boy, troubled and alone wanders the grassy hills looking for something. He settles on a slope and searches for some activity to amuse him. He begins to pick pieces of his body off and taste them. This seems like a good thing to do. So he removes his eye, his face and finally his own guts and eats them all in an orgy or ecstasy and gore.

5.  The Boarded Window (1978)

Storyline:  A mysterious, haunting film about a man and his wife living in a cabin in the woods.  Based on the short story by Ambrose Bierce.
